All about Eddie

The kids and I are missing Scott, but blissfully enjoying being in Texas. I know it's not for everyone, but I love San Antonio. (by the way, my new niece is even cuter in person although I think she blames me for the chaos that has descended into her life). Here's a couple of quick things:

Yesterday was the first time in 11 years that I flew w/ kids and no stroller. The kids were awesome, especially since I was too cheap to pay the $15/ checked bag and so they were all lugging a carry on. (in total 4 carry-ons, 2 back-packs, 1 purse, and a violin). I could write an entire post about how you're nickeled and dimed to death.

You have to be there for this, but I'll try anyway. Eddie had to go #2 in Atlanta. This always requires him to be completely naked from the waste down (particularly disturbing in public restrooms). Eddie hates self-flushing toilets. They always always flush when he's not ready for it and scare him. Anyway I peaked through the door to check on him. He had his feet up on the toilet, his eyes closed and his hands over his ears. He sat there like that for at least 5 minutes.

We came to Texas to surprise my dad for his 60th B-day. The kid's have been trying to figure out the best way for the big reveal. Right before my Dad came home from work, it was time to finalize the plans. Eddie likes to be in charge and here's a snippet of the conversation between him and his 4-year-old cousin Braedan.

Eddie: Quick, everyone lets make a circle and hold hands so we can make a plan.

Braedan: I don't want to make a circle and hold hands.

Eddie: OK, so what shape should we make?

I love how kid's take everything literally.
