Eddie's Broken Wing

So which boy broke his arm-the football player or the one hanging out at home?

  For  some unknown reason, Eddie was climbing over the fence and his flip-flop got stuck.  He calmed down and went to sleep, but then woke up about 10:30 crying so we headed down to the ER.

First Day of School

All good things must come to an end, including the busiest summer of our lives.

 Eddie was supper excited to be in a "grade".

 Spencer is not at all excited for anything that has to do with school, but is off to 5th grade.

Eddie is off to 1st grade with a mouth full of bagel.

 Riley is gorgeous as ever as she headed off to 8th grade.

Landa Park

Dave, Staci and their crew came up to spend a few days in San Antonio.  We decided to spend a few hours in New Braunfels at Landa Park.  We road the train and had a picnic at the park.

Carlsbad Caverns

This was our last stop on the trip, and the kids were pretty much done with national parks at this point.  We forced them out of the car.

The kid's were not crazy about the smell at the cave entrance.

Eddie declared himself unable to continue.

Roswell, NM

Roswell is a quirky little town that celebrates the fact that aliens may have landed there.

How could we not stop here to eat?

We got so distracted by all the alien stuff, that we forgot to get gas. We prayed ourselves to the next gas station.

Winslow, AZ

Not really much to say. It is mostly a town that got left behind when they moved the highway.
