Football room equipment lockers

I wanted to make some "equipment locker" toy boxes. My Dad is a principal and was on spring break last week and said he would help. I've never worked w/ saws etc. and was excited to get to try them out. I think I might watch to much HGTV. Those carpenters are really fast and make it look really easy. These 2 boxes took us all day.

My Dad had all the tools and supplies (and technical knowledge). I only had to buy hinges and wood putty, so they only cost me about $13.

It was fun hanging out w/ my Dad. He did most of the work and I just handed him stuff (reminded me of my childhood).
TADAAA! (after a hard day's work)

Spring Break

The kids didn't have school and so Scott took a few days leave so we could head on down to the coast.

We stayed at the Navy Lodge, where Eddie had his own personal room.
After 2 days of the beach (an sunburns) we spent a day at the Aquarium.
They had some really weird creatures on exhibit.

On the way home we stopped at our favorite Chinese Buffet and stopped to see the Ghostbuster mobile.

Track star

At Riley's school, everyone makes the track team, but only the top 3 times get to compete in the meet. Riley didn't qualify the first week (she got 4th). This week she came in 3rd in the 800m so she got to go to the meet.
They just had everyone that was running line up. The funniest part, was that Riley didn't realize that they were all running at the same time. The gun went off and she stood there for several seconds looking confused. I think she came in 7th or 8th out of 12 girls. We are very proud of her.

Basketball

The boy's spent the winter playing basketball.
At try-outs Eddie couldn't even dribble the ball and I was hoping he'd make at least one basket during the season. He progressed so fast. He usually made 2-3 baskets per game. Considering the scores were usually 8-12, this was pretty amazing. The last game he figured out how to rebound and he scored a whopping 18!
After watching BYU play in a tournament over Thanksgiving, Spencer is all about Jimmer. I'm hoping basketball moves up to being his favorite sport (less chance of ending up in wheel chair). Spencer's always been our natural athlete and was usually the top scorer and re-bounder each game. Once he score 34 points in the first half and his coach wouldn't let him shoot anymore.
The boy's finished up the basketball season Tuesday night. We had a visit w/ the Spurs Coyote and former NFL player Alexander Wright
