BRACES
Close-up. She picked pink and silver for her bands-she even matched her outfit. Actually, she's been wearing all pink since she's got them on. I don't know what she'll do when she runs out of pink stuff to wear.

Pine Wood Derby
Spencer had his last Pine Wood Derby. We cut one out and I forced him to paint it (I have to force him to do anything that doesn't involve a ball), but he lost a wheel before he got them all on. He used the Batmobile from his first one. It's been hanging out in his sock drawer for the past 2 years and so I think the wheel's might not have been quite "balanced". He took 8th overall. We have a year off, and then I guess Eddie will need one. Check out the kid in the hospital gown. He dove off the couch and broke his arm and came straight from the hospital.

Merry Christmas!
We hope all of you had a great Christmas! We sure did. A few year's ago we let the kids decide what they wanted to do for our family tradition. They picked that we stay home all day on Christmas Eve and play games and eat great snacks. We top off the evening by watching Elf (no one is allowed to watch it until that night, which is hard b/c it's on every channel). We put a beach blanket down in front of the TV so the kids can eat more snacks.
I should have taken a better pic, but I surprised everyone w/ a homemade t-shirt w/ some of our favorite Elf sayings. Riley= "Smiling's my favorite. Spencer-"that's shocking!" Eddie's sporting the four main Elf food groups. Scott's said "Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color." They turned out really cute and may I add that "freezer paper stenciling" is my new favorite hobby.
As far as presents, go it was a good year. Our kids are getting old enough to ask for cool stuff. Riley got "Cricut Cake"-clearly the coolest present ever and my best Black Friday deal ($99!) and biggest surprise. Spencer got his very own electric guitar that makes his dad very jealous. After changing his mind several times, Eddie got some Batman Trio toys. Santa brought a ping-pong table which has already brought us many hours of family fun. Merry Christmas!

Happy New Year!
I really like to scrapbook. Most people do not know the extent of my obsession I was recently told that paper scrapbooking is "out". I don't care about being "out", I"m just concerned that supplies might grow hard to come by. However, I am woefully behind. We were just so busy in DC, that I couldn't keep up. So this year, I'm going to try and catch up on the past 2 years with paper scrapbooks. So I don't get overwhelmed, I'm going to blog on a more regular basis and then publish it at the end of the year.
So far 2011 hasn't been super blog-worthy. I spent most of last week painting my kitchen cabinets (such a mess!!!), and was so exhausted that I only manage to ring in the New Year in Greenland (about 9:30). I spent yesterday cleaning up the huge mess I made in the kitchen. Hopefully more blogworthy stuff will happen soon.
