We spent Memorial Day weekend camping at Davis Mountain State Park (mostly b/c Scott wanted to see a bird). Despite a late night swarm of javelina's it was a great trip.
The natural springs at Balmorhea were a great place to cool off, but the fist grossed Riley out.
We had to cut our trip about 12 hours short due to a huge storm. We fled to Fort Stockton to spend the night in a hotel.
Some friends of ours asked us to join as a part of their relay marathon team. For the first time ever, we starting running together and it was great-except for the actual running part. Scott didn't get in until almost midnight the night before and we had to leave before 6:00 to head to our starting point. Despite being tired and the heat and humdity we conquered our 4.2 miles and handed the baton off to the next couple.
We earned a day at the beach. Poor Spencer just barely got his cast off and so had to trade bogey boarding for marine life exploration.
This is what happens when you ride down a hill as fast as you can on a hill, and go off a ramp in attempt to jump over your very tall friend. Right up until he hit the payment he felt like he was flying and declared it the best moment of his life. He loved the attention but hated missing the 5th grade kickball tournament. When he got the cast off a few weeks latter, a pen cap fell out. He sheepishly admitted to getting it stuck while trying to scratch.
