I haven't been very good at blogging lately. Mostly b/c and recent posts would only be filled w/ me whining about the trials of moving- and no one wants to read that. Here's some good stuff. our ward seems great. We've already received cookies, cupcake and were invited to dinner. Not bad for a week.
I have ADD when it comes to get anything done. I get bored w/ one task and so I move on to another. Consequently, the entire house is a mess. Pretty much everything but the study/sewing room is unpacked. We haven't really hung any pictures or decorated much, so it doesn't look real homey yet.
Of course, I've been painting. The house is mostly white, with one beige accent wall down stairs. My front door, was puke brown and is now a shiny black. I gave Scott full design power in the game room and so it is slowing turning into a mecca for pop culture. (I'll post some pics). I painted one wall "code red". It always takes several layers and reminds me why I don't like painting red.
My dryer was destroyed in the move. This is a good thing (although not great timing), b/c my old set were ugly and it gave me an excuse to buy a new set. The seller's disclosure said there was a tear in the linoleum under the washer. Who cares if you can't see it. For some unknown reason, they decided to "fix" it. They cut a huge square in the beige linoleum and laid down grey and black peel-and stick tile w/ teal flecks. Lovely! Yesterday, my mom came over and we redid the floor. I really didn't want to spend a lot of money, but I wanted it to look nice. I found some peel and stick tile that looks like tile, that you can even grout. It took 3 times as long as I thought, but looks 3 times better. You can't even tell it's not real ceramic. It looks so good, I'm going to do the kid's bathroom as well. I'm going to paint the laundry room a steel blue and my new set comes on Monday. My entire house will be a mess, but my laundry room will be pretty.
So does a pretty laundry room make doing laudry any less pleasant?
